Job Overview
- Haus of Chaa, a café inspired by South Asian and Middle Eastern culture, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality drinks and food items while creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects our cultural roots. Your role will involve engaging with customers, ensuring their satisfaction, and maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the workspace.

Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including specialty South Asian and Middle Eastern-inspired teas, coffees, and seasonal drinks, as well as light food items, following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Operate the Clover POS system to process customer orders and payments quickly and accurately.
- Provide exceptional hospitality by greeting customers warmly, taking orders attentively, and sharing knowledge about our menu items and cultural inspirations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including equipment, counters, and seating areas, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment at all times.
- Handle cash and card transactions responsibly while following accurate cash-handling practices.
- Assist with light food preparation and serving, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene guidelines.
- Manage time effectively to deliver prompt service, especially during peak hours.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling, equipment, and preparation.

Nice to have
- Previous barista or café experience doing latte art is preferred; familiarity with South Asian or Middle Eastern beverages is an asset.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a positive, culturally rich experience for guests.
- Familiarity with POS systems (Clover preferred; Micros experience is a plus).
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food-handling techniques.
- A collaborative team player who is also self-motivated and dependable.
- Passion for coffee, tea, and café culture, with genuine interest in sharing the traditions of South Asia and the Middle East with our community.

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
