**The Agency**

The Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) is a charity that reduces crime and makes Calgary communities safer by helping youth and adults make positive changes and move away from criminal behaviour. We do this by addressing the root causes of crime through housing, education, employment programs and support so that individuals have alternatives to breaking the law. **The Position**

Reporting to the HR Generalist, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer student to support our Human Resources department with key administrative, audit, and recruitment tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a career in Human Resources or a related field to gain hands-on experience in HR systems, audits, recruitment, and document management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Receive training and assist with BambooHR systems and processes
- Support the planning and execution of a BambooHR audit, including:

- 1. Compiling audit notes and flagging inconsistencies
- 2. Uploading and organizing employee documents
- 3. Following up with managers for outstanding items
- Identifying opportunities to improve system usage and workflows
- Assist with recruitment tasks such as posting jobs, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews
- Attend regular supervision meetings with HR Generalist and provide status updates
- Prepare a summary report on audit findings and recruitment support
- Complete final uploads of employee documents
- Participate in an exit interview and share knowledge transfer materials

**Qualifications**
- Must meet the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program.
- You are between the ages of 18-30.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Interest in HR systems and process optimization.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
