We are seeking a resourceful and resilient **Dispatcher** to join our team.
Safety, well-being, and community support are at the core of everything we do. The Dispatcher acts as the central coordinator, balancing customer needs and high-priority calls with operator availability enabling us to deliver timely and efficient service. This includes reviewing trip details to ensure essential information is available and dispatching the appropriate operator and equipment to provide on-site assistance. Success in this position requires the ability to remain calm under pressure, analyze multiple data points, make independent decisions, and build trust-based relationships with operators, even in challenging situations.
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are looking for someone who is accustomed to shift work, including a variety of days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate daily towing and transportation operations by assigning the right operators and equipment to meet customer needs.
- Monitor the real-time location and availability of operators to ensure efficient dispatching.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customer service agents, operators, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Perform the essential role of Customer Support Agent, particularly outside office hours.
- Identify and address gaps in information to maintain operational clarity and accuracy.
- Demonstrate professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive customer information and situations, ensuring confidentiality and trust are maintained at all times.
- Manage and resolve conflicts or escalated situations with a professional and solution-focused approach.
- Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic work environment.
- Utilize multiple systems and sources of information to maintain a comprehensive understanding of ongoing operations.
- Problem-solve unique and unexpected circumstances independently, adhering to established business practices.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities and provide accurate reporting as needed.
- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with operators, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
**Competencies Required**
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer-service experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify gaps and inconsistencies in information.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Calm and composed demeanor under pressure, with a focus on professional conflict resolution.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confidence in managing challenging situations and handling operator pressure.
- Ability to see the big picture while managing day-to-day operational details.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring operational efficiency.
