There is a temporary opening for the above position within Recreation & Culture Division, Community Development Department available immediately.

**What you will be doing**:

- Develops, coordinates and supervises a variety of municipal events of varying scales, types and at various locations.
- Acts as a municipal liaison for community led events, including attending committee meetings as required,
- Assisting in maintaining the division’s social media presence, developing and maintaining comprehensive sponsorship packages for municipal events,
- Co-ordinates promotional materials and their distribution relating to programs and activities.
- Actively seeking out and securing event sponsorships to enhance event programming,
- Participates in policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prepares, forecasts, and monitors budget.
- Coordinating the recruitment, scheduling and supervision for applicable seasonal staff/volunteers,
- Identifying trends and evaluating current special events to ensure high degree of innovation and quality of service.
- Be responsible to lead the Rec & Culture divisions Volunteer Management in a responsible & supportive way.

**Education**:
Two-year College Diploma in Recreation and Leisure, Event Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Current and valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training Certificate from the Ministry of Labour

**Your compensation**:
This position is within Grade 8 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $68,618 to $72,929.

Comprehensive benefits package included.
Enrolment in Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS).

**Hours of work**:
The regular hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday inclusive (35 hours per week).
Ability to be available to work flexible hours and/or shifts; attend evening and/or weekend meetings and special events.
