**Kepler Academy is looking for a Child Care Cook at our Oxford, North Edmonton location.**

**What do we need from you?**

As a Child Care Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for children in our care. You will have the opportunity to create menus that cater to varying dietary needs and preferences while ensuring that all meals meet nutritional guidelines.

**What will you do?**
- Prepare meals and snacks on the menu from start to finish
- Following the set nutritional menu to ensure items are prepared to meet the nutrition guidelines
- Meeting allergy and dietary requirements and accommodation
- Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Order groceries and supplies
- Maintaining a clean kitchen and understand current disinfecting practices
- Know and practice proper hand-washing procedures
- Follow all safety protocols

**You will possess the following**:

- Able to work independently in a kitchen setting
- Strong advocate of nutrition
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Ability to prepare and cook large volumes for up to 150 children daily
- Ability to handle food allergies and food substitution
- Ability to wash, peel, cut, and slice of ingredients
- Ability to sweep and mop areas
- Team player, organized, flexible

**Required Qualifications to Work at Kepler Academy**:

- Minimum of 1-year commercial cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Food Safety Certificate
- Standard First Aid certificate
- Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search
