Position Summary

The Production Planning Coordinator will report to the Production Planning and Inventory Control Manager and will be responsible for meeting customer demands by planning, coordinating and organizing the production orders. You will need to be knowledgeable of the products, customers, and internal transactional processes.

**This is a 6-month contract role with potential for extension or permanent opportunity but not guaranteed**

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform systems transactions in ERP system, “Visual”
- Update promise dates
- Input labour/daily labour entry
- Receive finished goods
- Print drawings
- Monitor production activity and progress to ensure materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods are progressing according to the plan; highlight areas of concern for resolution with the team
- Coordinate schedule changes due to production problems, design changes or shortages
- Assist with evaluating production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tool, and manpower requirements
- Create work orders as per scheduling requirements and release for production
- General administrative work as required
- Conduct cycle counts
- Required to be on the production floor approximately 25% of the time
- Carry out Raw Materials Purchasing
- Any other duties assigned by manager

Experience and Skill Required
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience required
- 1+ years’ experience in a supply chain/manufacturing production environment
- Knowledge and familiarity of production planning and scheduling preferred
- Superior Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
- Excellent computer skills in general, able to quickly learn and use ERP system
- Experience with ERP Infor Visual is an asset
- Good interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation
- Good communication skills
- Analytical and well-organized
- Knowledge and experience using continuous improvement concepts
