**Job Summary**
- The Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) offers degrees tailored to match individual interests in a high-tech discipline at the forefront of innovation. Staff work with faculty members to help build a foundation for student success as students prepare, through academics and research, for a career in one of the world’s hottest growth industries. Reporting to the Director of Engagement & Communications, the Communications and Marketing Officer stewards and enhances the reputation and profile of the Faculty of Computer Science in alignment with the strategic priorities of the University through brand management, content creation, external and internal communications and marketing.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Based on research insights, with the help of the Director of Engagement & Communications, develops and implements a comprehensive content strategy, integrating the spectrum of web, social media, and online search advertising with print, in order to raise the profile of the Faculty of Computer Science.
- Support the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communications plan, in collaboration with the Director of Engagement and Communications, that is distinctive, communicate key messages, and enhance the reputation and profile of the Faculty of Computer Science.
- Provides support to faculty and staff on communications planning, content development, creative direction, and promotion.
- Write in multiple styles and formats including project plans, creative briefs, stories, web content, media pitching, advertising campaigns, award nominations, and marketing materials.
- Plan and manage advertising campaigns for student recruitment, employing creativity in the development of print materials, web content, special publications, and other marketing tools that differentiate the Faculty in a highly competitive environment; develop metrics to evaluate and track campaign effectiveness.

**Note**
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in a field such as Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, plus three to five years’ related work experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Demonstrated strength in communications, including exceptional skills in oral communications, writing, and editing.
- Ability to show good judgement, think strategically, understand and anticipate the needs of the organization and respond appropriately Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Highly attentive to detail and able to prioritize activities according to larger strategic goals.
- Strong knowledge of and/or demonstrated expertise in brand strategy, position and deployment.
- Demonstrated understanding and strategic perspective of evolving digital marketing principles and technologies, particularly as they relate to the higher-education sector.
