We're seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team and help tell the MaKami story. In this role, you'll craft compelling narratives that connect with our students, staff, and community while strengthening our brand presence across Alberta.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement strategic communication plans that amplify MaKami's mission and values
- Create engaging content for internal and external audiences, including staff, students, and alumni
- Build and maintain MaKami's positive public image through thoughtful messaging and brand consistency
- Partner with leadership and various departments to ensure all communications are clear, impactful, and aligned with our institutional goals

What You Bring
- A diploma or degree in communications, public relations, business, or a related field
- 3-5 years of proven experience in communications, public relations, or marketing
- A portfolio showcasing successful marketing and communications strategies
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication abilities that can translate complex ideas into compelling stories
- Creative thinking balanced with meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivation and the ability to thrive both independently and within collaborative teams
- Strong planning, organization, and time management capabilities
- Strategic problem-solving skills and adaptability under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with key communication tools including Word, Excel, Mailchimp, Outlook, Canva, WordPress, and SharePoint
- An outgoing, people-oriented personality with superior interpersonal skills
- Experience working in post-secondary communications is an asset but not required.
