This job contributes to Starbucks success by utilizing an understanding of transportation processes, project management and analytical skills to support the transportation team in developing innovative, cost effective and scalable systems that facilitate global growth and generate store and customer value. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

**Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following**:

- Ensures that transportation processes are documented in a standardized manner across the company. Utilizes transportation models to provide analysis for effective business decisions. Maintains transportation performance metrics tracking and identifies improvement opportunities
- Executes established project plans. Identifies issues and obstacles and works with appropriate parties to gain support or facilitate resolution
- Lead/participate in operational carrier management meetings (business reviews, reporting on operational carrier performance) and lead day to day tactical relationship with the vendors
- Participates in the assessment of financial and operational impacts of business initiatives. Recommends transportation solutions outlining assumptions, analysis, and risks
- Oversee Inbound & outbound transportation services, including freight management, strategic transportation analysis, compliance, claims, freight payment, US/Canada import/export services, and deviations

**Summary of Experience**
- Food service or food company transportation and distribution operations (3 years)
- Order management system(s) and Transportation system(s) (3 years)
- Performance metrics development and root cause analysis (3 years)
- International or domestic transportation experience including related freight rates and invoices (1 year)
- Carrier management experience (3 years)
- Project management experience (not required but preferred)

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Organizational and planning skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Problem-solving, results-oriented, and analytical
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands
- Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, including lookup & reference functions, conditional statements, and pivots
