**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**

This role reports to the Dean of the Wilson School of Design. The Director supervises the Communications and Events Coordinators, the Industry and Strategic Partnership Liaison, as well as, Non-Bargaining unit CPS Faculty, Student/Research Assistants and any personnel contracted to work with various projects offered through the Faculty.

The Director, Strategy and Business Development is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing strategic business objectives aimed at revenue generation, external outreach, and the development of strategic partnerships for the Wilson School of Design (WSD). This includes enhancing the WSD profile through strategic planning, executing the Communications and Branding Plan

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- An MBA or a Master’s degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ management/leadership experience, preferably within a unionized environment, post-secondary institution experience preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing or business development is an asset.
- Direct experience and proven track record in the delivery of processes, tools, programs and participating in the development of accompanying policies.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Proven track record of effective team management and implementing changes that enhance service quality, staff productivity, and system efficiency.
- Creative leadership style with the ability to thrive in dynamic, action-oriented environments. Strong self-starter and motivator.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in implementing programs/initiatives that generate new streams of revenue.
- Ability to network and build/maintain strong relationships with executive decision-makers in industry, government, and the community.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate within a complex organization, fostering productive partnerships at all levels, including students and management teams.
- Extensive experience in developing, planning, and administering complex projects, including drafting business cases and financial projections. Proficiency in project management principles and methodologies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a track record of managing and resolving complex challenges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact and network with diverse constituencies and communities.
- Proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills while maintaining discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Experience in supporting and fostering equitable, diverse, and inclusive environments, ensuring fair and respectful collaboration across all levels of the institution.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration among diverse internal teams and external clients, fostering unity across different perspectives and priorities.
- Proven ability to gather and analyze data, conduct assessments, compile information, and present comprehensive reports to support decision-making.
- Excellent organizational, office management, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring efficient operations and resource utilization.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adapt to changing organizational priorities, maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
