**Manufacturing Technician (on-site in Brantford)**

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will support the Design department in continuous improvement initiatives, conduct studies of product manufacturing designs and develop new programs to ensure maximum efficiency of processes.

**What will YOU be doing as a Manufacturing Technician?**
- Conduct production and other studies to determine performance and areas of improvement.
- Analyze costs associated with design and production.
- Develop and support the implementation of processes and designs to make manufacturing more efficient, including manufacturing and testing prototypes for new products.
- Update and create bill of material (BOM) for old and new design items within the Mott system.
- Develop and change standards for catalogue items when required.
- Create or update work instructions for welding, assembly, and electrical departments.
- Communicate with internal personnel including production Lead Hands and employees, as well as Design, Sales, and IT staff.
- Provide backup to Product Designer and Project Coordinator as needed.

**What YOU bring to the table**
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience in a design or engineering role.
- Skilled in CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- LEAN manufacturing experience.
- Intermediate math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and strong problem solving ability.
- Previous mechanical and production process experience, including process improvement.
