We are looking for a line cook. An ideal line cook at Sushi Ai will be responsible for preparing and delivering the local best culinary experiences to our guests. You will prepare and cook our menu items with high consistency and precision. This is an opportunity to show your wonderful culinary arts and bring happiness to more guests

**Responsibilities**
- Strictly implement kitchen safety standard and regulations; Be proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards.
- Prepare and cook menu items including appetizers, soup, salad, tempura, udon, noodle, and teriyaki.
- Communicate with main chef on a regular basis to discuss new dishes and inventory requests; Learn new ingredient and culinary skills for seasonal dishes.
- Ensure the work environment is clean. Ensure sanitation, hygiene and safety standard for food storage. Maintain kitchen inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Assist culinary team with various food preparation tasks.

**Basic Requirements**
- Exceptional safety awareness and accident handling ability.
- Good acknowledge of Japanese foods
- Great food handling and preparation knowledge.
- Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible available to work a variety of shifts including statutory holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English

**Preferred Requirements**
- Previous experience as cooking in Japanese style restaurant is an asset.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an asset.

**Salary**: $14.00-$18.00 per hour
