This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization.
We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Recreation (Youth Drop-In Centre) to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Recreational Programming and Day Camps, the Team Lead - Recreation (Youth Drop-In Centre) is responsible for executing the planning and facilitation of programs and services according to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards and ensuring participant satisfaction.
**START DATE**: As soon as possible
**LOCATION**: Sudbury, ON
**RATE OF PAY**: $20.00 per hour
**HOURS**: 30 to 35 hours per week (evenings Monday to Friday)
**CONTRACT DURATION**: June 2 to August 30, 2025
Major Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to staff and participants during the program delivery schedule
- Coordinate and schedule activities, programs and special events
- Assist in the preparation of program space and the maintenance of equipment/supplies
- Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly
- Be a positive role model for all program participants and staff
- Ensure that all Association safety standards are met or exceeded
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner including attendance sheets & sign in/out
- Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
**Qualifications**:
- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Post-secondary education in a related field preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Skills related to visual/performing arts, recreation, or sports is an asset
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- HIGH FIVE principles of Healthy Child Development an asset
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
