About Us
Niijkiwendidaa Anishnaabekwewag Services Circle (NASC) is a registered charitable organization dedicated to the development and delivery of healing services for Anishnaabekwewag (Indigenous women) and their families who have experienced violence or are at risk of experiencing violence. Therapeutic healing work is conducted using Anishnaabe practices, blended with community-centred and client-centred methods of healing. 

The position is located at the main office in Peterborough Ontario. In addition to the City of Peterborough, NASC supports the County of Peterborough, Haliburton, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, and the Durham Region; the First Nations of Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Burleigh Falls, and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

**Description**

To oversee and supervise program delivery at Niijkiwendidaa, with a primary focus on leading the Health Outreach Worker program while providing support and supervision to all other client-facing programs. This position ensures program consistency, staff development, and effective service coordination across the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Health Outreach Delivery**
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Health Outreach Worker program.
- Provide direct support to clients through individual, group, and community-based services.
- Ensure cultural relevance and trauma-informed practice throughout the program;
**Program Supervision**
- Provide direct supervision and mentoring to program staff across NASC’s services.
- Facilitate regular check-ins, case reviews, and team development.
- Identify professional development needs and support staff wellness;
**Cross Program Coordination**
- Act as a bridge between NASC programs to ensure service integration and continuity of care.
- Support staff in developing collaborative programming and joint initiatives;
**Internal and External Referrals**
- Maintain knowledge of client needs across all NASC programs to support referrals and transitions.
- Strengthen external partnerships to improve client access to culturally appropriate services;
**Program Monitoring and Reporting**
- Monitor program compliance, documentation, and reporting timelines.
- Assist in compiling data and narratives for internal and funder reporting.

- Strong leadership, supervision, and mentoring skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Indigenous service delivery frameworks.
- High-level administrative and organizational skills, including reporting and data oversight.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain a calm, solutions-based approach.
- Collaborative and strengths-based approach to working with clients and staff.
- Cultural humility and deep respect for Indigenous teachings and ways of being.

**Education/Work Experience**:

- Completed University Degree in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Health Promotion, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Indigenous programming, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

**Accountability**:
The Health Outreach and Program Supervisor is accountable to the mission and vision of NASC, to the integrity and quality of program service delivery, and to the supervision and wellbeing of staff delivering those services. The Health Outreach and Program Supervisor reports to the Executive Director.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Understanding of financial and health support resources and systems such as OW, ODSP, OSAP, Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS), Ontario HealtAtHome local health services and organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of the intersections of health and colonialism, including issues related to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Boys.
- Ability to recognize and address instances of power imbalance and privilege, particularly in the context of anti-Indigenous racism and colonialism.
- Extensive understanding of Indigenous culture, communities, and ways of being.
