**Your Opportunity**

Stantec is seeking an individual to provide intermediate level health and safety consulting services for a variety of clients (including government, oil and gas, and industrial / manufacturing companies) within our on our Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team. This position will support and coordinate the health and safety projects for our clients nation-wide. This role will report directly to the Director of Industrial Hygiene and HSSE Consulting Services.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
- Provide health and safety consulting services for a variety of projects and clients.
- Assist and support health and safety and industrial hygiene staff and projects internationally.
- Assist in the development of health and safety management systems and related programs and procedures, training modules.
- Conduct health and safety compliance audits for a variety of clients and work environments.
- Assist and support clients in completing their health and safety action plans.
- Assist and support clients during incident investigations.
- Prepare programs, procedures, technical reports, auditing protocols, documentation of audits and management systems, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
- Complete field work as required, including IH assessments and indoor air quality assessments.
- Collect and analyze field data and prepare industrial hygiene monitoring reports.
- Assist with project pre-job planning and hazard assessments.
- Support employees to be compliant with Stantec’s HSSE systems including the HSSE program manual and safe work practices, as well as local legislation.
- Conduct field assessments, planned job observations and worksite inspections.
- Promote HSSE within the company with a goal of continuous improvement of HSSE culture.
- You will gain increasing responsibility for project and proposal management through training and will work closely with and support senior health and safety and IH practitioners and project managers. This position requires travel to and work at client sites for audits, information gathering and client meetings.

**Qualifications**

**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
- Knowledge of and experience with federal and provincial occupational health and safety acts, regulations.
- Strong technical and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, coupled with an ability to work in a team atmosphere, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Strong leadership skills and the capability to assess priorities and work independently.
- Experience in HSSE construction and consulting is preferred.
- Experience with conducting OH&S compliance auditing is preferred.
- Experience working with field sampling equipment, including associated software is preferred.
- Ability to obtain clearance with the Government of Canada for federal work
- Working towards certification by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP), Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists, or the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (in comprehensive practice), or similar designation.
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record is required.
- This role requires some travel; mainly within Western Canada, but valid Passport and ability to travel cross-border is preferred.

**Education and Experience**
- A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, industrial Hygiene or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant field work experience in a Health and Safety or IH role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
