About the Role:
An exciting opportunity to join and play a key role within our team. The
**Learning and Development Specialist** will act as Subject Matter Expert in Learning and Development to advise various business partners through strong communication skills to gather information, provide counsel and coaching, promote employee engagement with support through learning programs by offering best practice solutions to enable the culture and attainment of corporate goals.
As a Learning and Development Specialist you will:
- Research and recommend best practice learning solutions across various business units to provide up to date educational programs that builds a culture of learning through e-learing design, instructor-led training, job aids, and training guides. Specifically, implement and deliver digital and/or in-person programs that builds on employee engagement.
- Utilize data analytics to make recommendations on where upskilling may be required to enhance positions and growth of leaders in the organization under succession planning structure.
- Manage and optimize the Learning Management system (LMS) introduction of new material and programs. Plan, communicate, and coordinate with the HR team on any topical events that require training and delivery of compliance to ensure policies and processes under compliance is captured within the HR system.
- Work within the HR team and with business partners to provide the best in class offer and orientation experience by contributing to the delivery of materials, upgrades in training and onboarding.
- Co-ordinate all Corporate education and meetings. Maintain all records relating to education content, dates of sessions, and attendance.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide feedback on comments about the program, career paths, and education opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Diploma or post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management. CHRL designation is an asset.
- 7+ years’ experience and demonstrated skills in developing, implementing, and delivering learning solutions utilizing HR best practices and adult learning techniques.
- Highly professional team player, with demonstrated track record in taking initiative, to design, deliver and present training solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact well with team members, communicate efficiently to explain and relate well to all levels of the organization.
- Excellent experience in training, presenting, and conflict resolution skills.
- Detail oriented and well-organized, possess strong computer skills in Learning Management systems, as well Microsoft Office suite (PPT, word, Excel) and experience with HR information systems.
- Self-directed and team-oriented; able to multi-task and manage priorities event planning, and learning schedules while keeping others informed.
- Experience evaluating, researching best practices and implementing enhancements to learning programs.
- Ability to travel to various work locations.
