Job Profile
The City of Cambridge, Recreation and Culture Division is looking for outgoing and enthusiastic individuals, with exceptional customer service skills to work in our facilities and at outdoor events. Tasks may include opening and closing of facilities, providing general information, assisting facility users and performing simple janitorial and maintenance tasks and assisting with set up and take down at events.
What you will be doing
- Working in indoor/outdoor settings, events/rentals/Farmer's Market
- Lock/unlock and secure all areas as required, arming & disarming security system
- Report and document accident & incidents (to immediate supervisor)
- Assist patrons and staff with emergency procedures in building, when required
- Greet patrons and ensure rentals have appropriate permit requirements
- Perform event-related tasks
- Guide customer in clean up and exiting building
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a culturally diverse community setting
- Assist with set up and take down that may involve, tents, tables, chairs, signs, garbage, recycle, speakers, staging, microphone
- Able to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Other duties as assigned
Education
High school Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum two months experience working in a similar environment.
- An interest or discipline in the activity through volunteering or participation is an asset

Current and valid Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Standard First Aid, CPR C & AED certification
Rate of pay
The hourly rate for this non-union casual position is $19.95 per hour.
Hours of work
Hours may include evenings, weekdays or weekends and are dependent on the number of participants taking part in our programs; as such, there are no minimum hours associated with this position.
