Compass is currently seeking a permanent full time Maintenance Generalist. Directly reporting to the Operations and Privacy Manager, the Maintenance Generalist is responsible for the coordination of third party building maintenance/skilled trades workers, as well as the maintenance and repair of all corporate facilities and associated systems and grounds of Compass.

**DUTIES**:

- Utilize ticketing software to monitor, document steps taken and resolve requests and issues
- Process and respond to service requests and maintain the database of such requests to meet reporting and analysis requirements
- Obtain and prepare for approval price quotes for projects
- Prepare request for contract, coordinate signing of final contract with supplier and obtain security clearance supporting documents
- Coordinate, oversee repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, etc.
- Coordinate and schedule contractors for any emergency facility maintenance work
- Review third party work orders to ensure that assignments are completed as agreed upon
- Maintain an electronic filing system for invoices and prepare payment request forms
- Assist with any internal/inter-office moves (such as moving light weight bins, creating a labeling system, coordinating movers, coordinate relocation deficiencies, and special requests)
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure they operate efficiently
- Complete any light duty maintenance requests including but not limited to light bulb replacement, filter replacement, paint touch ups, furniture assembly, minor carpentry, etc.
- Perform routine, minor plumbing repairs such as addressing clogged toilets, sinks, or urinals, and leaking faucets
- Provide light duty grounds work including maintaining clear walk ways, remove trash and other debris from outdoor areas
- Complete facility inspections to proactively recognize and address maintenance concerns
- Help support set up/take down and storage of seasonal or special event festivity decoration/supplies, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent*
- 3 years’ work experience in maintenance areas, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, grounds or equivalent* combination of training
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Good project and process management skills; ability to multi-task and be a team player
- Self-directed with the proven ability to work independently
- Ability to respond to requests in a timely manner
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive, problem solver
- Client-service oriented

**Successful applicants will be required to provide**:

- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
- A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on vehicle as per policy
