This temporary full-time (12 month) position is available immediately, for an indefinite period of time. As part of the Technology Services team, analysis of school student data for accuracy and statistical reporting and support for schools comprises a large element of the position. The team’s roles and responsibilities are also:
Liaise with the Ministry of Education and other boards to ensure that policies, procedure and data reporting for the student information system are implemented accurately;
Create administrative procedural documentation and training packages for use within school offices relating to the above;
**Qualifications Required**:
Secondary Graduation, plus a three (3) year College diploma, in a related field;
Over one (1) year, up to three (3) years of equivalent experience;
Database administration including XML file manipulation, data imports and exports or equivalent experience;
Advanced knowledge of PowerSchool or similar multi-screen database experience;
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel including Pivot Tables for data analysis;
Working knowledge of all Ministry requirements for reporting in elementary, secondary and continuing education schools;
Ability to take direction and report progress with mínimal supervision;
Ability to work on a very collaborative team;
Ability to adhere to and meet strict deadlines;
Excellent oral, written, public relations and training skills; such as communication with users’ regarding system-wide outages;
Ability to adhere to privacy policies and security requirements;
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
**Assets**:
Knowledge of the Ministry’s OnSIS reporting database;
Experience with providing online remote support;
Teaching, training and supporting adults in collaboration with other departments;
Working knowledge of both Secondary and Elementary school administrative environments is a definite asset;
Working knowledge of the secondary school scheduling process;
Working knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s business requirements pertaining to student data, such as Enrolment Registers for day school, independent study and continuing education, OnSIS, OEN, report cards, transcripts, SHSM, PLAR, Co-op, etc
**HOURS OF WORK**: 35 hours /week, Monday to Friday, 12-month position
**HOURLY WAGE**: $30.21 (minimum) - $36.04 (maximum)
**POINT BAND**: 11 (Unionized Position)
