Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for accomplishing business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans. Driving all sales functions and operations. This individual is responsible for achieving quarterly/annual sales goals, developing distribution channels, building strategic business relationships, and providing vision for all sales strategies and their execution. Manage the receipt, handling, and escalation of all sales enquires. Identify and co-ordinate market information.
Specific Duties:
Ø To follow up leads by visiting prospective clients regularly, often enough to maintain their interest.
Ø To achieve or exceed budgeted sales targets.
Ø To liaise closely with operational staff on all details for a prospective new contract and gain their agreement on all details.
Ø To maintain communication with the client once the contract is opened and shows an ongoing interest in the operation.
Ø To analyze statistics thereby identifying key sales areas, problems and success rate.
Ø To research prospective client details, finding out as much as possible about the company to ensure a professional approach.
Ø To constantly monitor and be aware of competitor activity.
Ø To present a realistic proposal to a prospective client, having thoroughly researched cost factors and ensure that the proposal is achievable.
Ø Assists the hotel publicist by acting as “first contact” with all outside creative talent (i.e., photographers, graphic artists, printers) to ensure that the target market and image positioning is clearly communicated to all involved in the creation of collateral sales materials and advertising campaign strategies.
Ø Maintains high visibility in the surrounding community and in the hospitality community nationwide.
Ø Book new business and marketing strategies for product development, pricing, promotions and distribution.
Ø Maintains efficient sales office procedures for productive use of staff time and insures the maintenance of accurate and updated account files and follow-up procedures.
Ø Maintains all sales systems, such as sales records and reports, conference calendar, traces of history and potentials, logs of groups not previously accommodated and mailing lists.
Ø Develops design of new programs and campaigns, designed to develop additional sales from the various market niches.
Ø Ensures the prompt and systematic servicing of all business accounts.
Ø Identifies and analyzes competition, both locally and regionally. Identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Ø Creating ongoing activities that promote the company and its products.
Ø Learn from his customers what the competitors are doing to promote their products, read industry publications, visits industry websites and attends conventions, conferences and trade shows.
Ø Works with in-house staff to help develop any advertising, promotions, social media and public relations activities.
Ø Work with Revenue Manager and sales team to provide sales goals, leads, establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
Ø Work with other departments and give support as MOD or Supervisor when needed.
Ø Making sales calls and expanding market share, marketing activities running ads in trade publications, having booths at trade shows and running pricing specials.
Ø Create ads and flyers, proofread and approve ads and decide which magazines the company uses to advertise.
Ø Choose which trade shows the company attends, which gifts to pass out at the booth.
Ø Decide if the company hosts special events develops other promotions to keep the company in front of its specific audience.
Ø Enforcing policies and procedures.
Ø Manage the day to day work and other tasks as directed by management.
**Salary**: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
