**About the Role**

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shop Hand is responsible for maintenance of the machines including supporting with inspection checks, safely handling chip bins and fluids. The Shop Hand will also support and assist the Shipper & Receiver with securing shipments to ensure work packages are packed and loaded correctly.

- **Shifts**: Days (Monday
- Thursday, 7AM to 5PM)

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensuring the maintenance of the machines and completing daily inspection checks
- Operating equipment including the forklift, laser, and engraver
- Loading material onto racking
- Moving material around the shop using pallet jack and ensuring the work package is accompanied with the correct pallet
- Maintaining accuracy of the information engraved onto machined parts and adding all necessary traceability information
- Confirming completed parts have been marked and are ready to move to the Quality Control Department
- Unloading trucks and safely storing material in the correct location within the shop
- Assisting with the Saw
- Assisting the Shipper & Receiver with securing shipments that are ready for transport
- Assists in maintaining a safe and clean work environment

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Working knowledge in operating equipment such as forklift, engrave, overhead crane and rigging
- Ability to read work packages
- Experience with utilizing various hand tools an asset
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees and supervisors
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Must be able to lift heavy material up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
