The Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society (“Nikkei”) is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to providing supportive housing for Japanese seniors. The Society operates two residential facilities: Nikkei Home, a Supportive Housing and Assisted Living residence, and New Sakura-so, a housing complex for independent seniors aged 55 and over.

We offer a person-centered approach to keep seniors safe and connected to community. We value independence, respect, dignity, privacy and choice.

Nikkei has received funding to provide a connection through the Robert Nimi Nikkei Home website to connect seniors with government and community resources in their area.

**Job Summary**

Reporting to the H.U.G.S. Administrative Manager and Steering committee, this position is to operationalize the Senior’s Connect Program. This includes responsibility and accountability for the development and sustainability of the website and management of services by the web support position.

**Supervisory**

Responsible to orient, schedule, provide ongoing guidance as needed, evaluate and supervise the web support position.

**Senior’s Connect Program**
- Manage the implementation schedule, provide ongoing support through meetings as needed.
- Coordinate with H.U.G.S. Administrative Manager and Steering Committee regarding the web content.
- Manage the website for both English and Japanese content.
- Develop in collaboration with the H.U.G.S. Committee documents, processes and materials, such as pamphlets to describe the program functions and ensure attainment of the Program’s Goals and Outcomes.
- Act as the main communicator and facilitator with any other Nikkei Community Services Programs that are currently providing services to the Japanese community to attain capacity and sustainability of the Senior’s Connect program.
- Manage and report to H.U.G.S. Steering Committee all financially accountable expenses and debits.

**Client Service/Communication**
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills to support independent program delivery.
- Monitor service delivery and report to H.U.G.S. Steering Committee.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively provide quality services for clients, family, public and stakeholders.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with H.U.G.S. program staff other departmental staff through interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated skills as team player using clear and professional language.
- Ability to multi-task, handle variety of demands and manage workload priorities in a calm, professional manner.
- Ability to handle confidential matters and information.

**Financial**
- Support program with timely, accurate information for financial updates to the H.U.G.S. Administrative Manager.
- Work closely with HU.G.S. Administrative Manager and Accountant to ensure appropriate financial processes are in place for managing fund.

**Human Resources**
- Provide leadership to web support position to support program delivery.
- Work collaboratively with staff and other departmental staff to support Senior’s Connect program initiatives.
- Participate and support departmental and organizational activities.

**Operational Management**
- Follow employee health and safety programs in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Comply with departmental audit programs to include accounting processes.
- Prepare and participate fully in education/training sessions for staff to support Senior’s Connect program delivery.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- People person that has a heart for seniors and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Interest and knowledge of Japanese culture.
- Knowledge of government and community senior resources.
- Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.
- Post-secondary education up to a diploma program in gerontology, wellness, social work, therapeutic recreation, nursing, etc.
- One years’ recent related experience in community-based health care of older adults that includes senior resources and programs and knowledge of the health care system.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
- Japanese language skills, both written and spoken preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure project timelines and commitments are on schedule.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $28.00-$30.15 per hour
