**Job Description**:
Position Overview:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR related activities in a manufacturing environment. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Regional HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Within a manufacturing plant environment,
- Resolve employee related issues with support of Regional HR Manager
- Responsible for sourcing, and recruitment of Hourly positions
- Conduct New Hire Onboarding
- Oversee Workday Time and Attendance
- Lead employee engagement initiatives including recognition programs and social events
- Support the administration benefits program as front line support for employees
- Compiles HR reports and analysis data for leaders
- Responsible for processing leaves including disability claims and coordinate Return to Work program
- Adhere to the consistent interpretation of Company policies, procedures and programs
- Support the execution of the plant’s strategies to meet business goals, and providing feedback
- Make recommendations to improvement on policies, procedures, and programs
- Perform administrative tasks and maintain related employee records
- Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in an HR generalist role in a fast-paced manufacturing plant
- 1-2 years timekeeping/payroll administration
- Experience working in a unionized facility
- Possess or working towards CHRP designation
- A college or university degree specializing in Human resources
- Understanding of hourly payroll practices and benefits admin
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Understanding and knowledge of ESA in Ontario, Human Rights Code, and OHSA
- Ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strive to work in an environment with rapid changes
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Proficient in MS Office particularly Word and Excel
