Join Georgian College's vibrant academic team as a part-time faculty member in our new Horticulture Technician program. Be part of a forward-thinking, hands-on learning environment within a diverse and inclusive college community.
- Delivering courses in the Horticulture Technician program
- Designing and delivering curriculum that supports course and program outcomes in specific areas such as:
o Plant Science and Propagation

o Soil Science and Management

o Greenhouse Operations

o Landscape Design and Installation

o Sustainable Urban Agriculture

o Pest Management and Biosecurity
- Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluating student progress / achievement
- Participating in program and college activities as required
- Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agricultural Science, or a closely related field
- Minimum five years of industry experience in horticulture, landscaping, greenhouse operations, or a related area
- Experience managing change and leading innovation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Computer literacy: MS Office
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
