Alberta Health Services is seeking an experienced and professional healthcare leader for the role of Assistant Manager, Respiratory Therapy within the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. As the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the direct supervision of Respiratory Therapists and support staff as assigned. A key focus of this role involves the coordination and organization of assigned human, financial and material resources to ensure effective program delivery, and the identification and resolution of issues that impact service to the site which may include managing employee performance and attendance matters. In this Assistant Manager position, you will be the first line of contact for assigned staff to resolve problems related to staffing, patient care or other service concerns. You will also ensure that adequate staff are scheduled and available on a 24-hour basis.

Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Respiratory Therapy, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of Respiratory Therapists and support staff as assigned. Demonstrated managerial competencies that include excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical thinking, interpersonal and group management skills, change management, organization and project management skills.
