Personal Support Worker

**Job Summary**
**Duties**
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Engage in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Document client progress and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers regarding any changes in condition or needs.
- Foster a supportive and empathetic atmosphere to enhance the quality of life for seniors and individuals requiring assistance.
**Skills**
- Experience in hospice care, nursing home settings, or similar caregiving environments is preferred.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies to support cognitive function.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and respect for client dignity.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Excellent meal preparation skills that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences of clients.
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space for clients receiving home care services.
- Effective communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
