Overview:
**Cobourg Home Hardware Building Centre** is a family oriented and privately owned home improvement and hardware store. We focus on making customers for life and build our Home Hardware Family which includes Gilmer’s Home Hardware Building Centre and Brighton Home Building Centre.
**We are currently seeking a full-time Logistics/Receiving Associate.**
This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the store’s inventory and logistics. The position manages the receiving and receipt of all products, materials and supplies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming shipments and compare items to work orders.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects and then sort, organize, and store inventory in designated locations.
- Update inventory records in the database and assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding shipment discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, merchandise in aisles, warehouse, store and follow the standards.
- Protection of company assets and maintain a professional environment, ensuring the best possible experience for customers and sales associates.
- Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures through daily tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
- The filling and facing of product from regular delivery trucks and staying until all stock from truck is worked.
- Aid in the auditing of inventory and back fill retail locations from warehouse and secondary locations.
- Perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned.
- Ensuring you arrive to all shifts by the required time wearing your uniform which includes a Home Hardware shirt, black pants, or rip free jeans, a name tag, non-slip, composite or steel toe shoes.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Logistics/Receiving Associates must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Must be able to use a computer, lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds, and climb up and down ladders.
- Must offer flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability necessary to perform these duties.
- Some evenings and weekends are a requirement of the position.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience with order picking and loading/unloading procedures.
- Familiarity with e-commerce operations.
- Proficiency in operating reach trucks and forklifts.
- Knowledge of AS400 or similar inventory management systems is an asset.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and verification.
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution is a plus.
- Ability to communicate with a friendly, calm, and consistent demeanor.
- Ability to work with others, attention to detail, operate a computer/tablet, and remain individually productive.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
