**Junior IT Technician**

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Provide help desk support to staff.
- Maintain inventory database of all electronic equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Assist with IT orientation for new and existing employees.
- Perform installations and upgrades of windows client/server OS, system patches, and hotfixes as required.
- Troubleshoot system hardware/software.
- Manage backup policies and procedures, maintaining documentation.
- Monitor security solutions, including, anti-virus and intrusion detection systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures for the designated technology areas.
- Ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and available for peak productivity (e.g., printers, phones, etc.) and promptly attend to operational problems requiring repair.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) preferred or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of computer operation experience in an IT environment is considered an asset.
- Technical support, test/troubleshooting skills, diagnosing, and solving issues onsite/remote and through telephone.
- Technical knowledge of current hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Functional knowledge of a variety of equipment including computers, printers, wireless devices, audio-visual equipment, and various other types of accessories.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; verbal and written.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Team player with a positive attitude; capable of working independently and setting own priorities and tasks.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
