Position Description
Urban Life Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Foreman to lead a crew of 3-6 team members in executing landscape maintenance, construction projects, and snow removal operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Foreman will oversee daily tasks including grass cutting, landscape upkeep, municipal and federal construction projects, and winter snow clearing. This role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while fostering a positive and productive team environment. Seasonal duties will shift between summer landscaping/construction and winter snow removal, requiring adaptability and strong organizational skills.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Lead, supervise, and work alongside a crew of 3-6 in daily operations.
Plan and execute tasks such as grass cutting, landscape maintenance, construction projects, and snow removal.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
Operate and maintain equipment (e.g., mowers, plows, construction tools).
Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients.
Track and report progress, materials, and crew performance to the Operations Manager.
Capabilities and Experience
**Required Skills and Experience**:
Experience in Construction, or snow removal, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Ability to lead and motivate a small team while maintaining a hands-on approach.
Proficiency in operating equipment such as lawnmowers, snowplows, skid steers, or similar machinery.
Experience in asphalt and concrete work preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience towing trailers is an asset.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
Basic knowledge of landscape design, construction techniques, or snow management practices is a plus.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional training or certification in landscaping, horticulture, construction, or equipment operation is an asset (e.g., AZ/DZ license, WHMIS, First Aid).
