**What Would You Do?**
Reporting to the VP, Product Development & Quality, we are looking for a Product Manager who will plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories, optimizing sales and margin.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position would include:
Product Management
- Organize and conduct Range Planning and Product Council meetings on a regular basis.
- Continuous analysis on current leather & fabric offering to propose additions and deletions.
- Product development initiatives, including new style concept and kick off meetings, target price point, styling details, fit intent, and fabrication.
- Effective overall catalog and SKU management
Product Costing & Pricing
- Collaborate with R&D on Technical Costing. Cost review of each new style.
- Work with revenue manager/team to price products that are in alignment with product strategy.
- Work with Procurement and Product Management to monitor cost increase/decreases in relation to existing products. Make decisions based on cost increases/decreases to maintain margin requirements, when necessary, in conjunction with the Executive Team.
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance on manufacturing variances, sales related expense lines, FX management and labor cost changes.
Product Marketing
- Work with Marketing team to develop materials that will communicate the specific features and benefits of a new product.
- Partner with Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, and Studio to ensure POP fulfillment is aligned with product objectives.
- Make recommendations based on findings/opportunities discovered.
Trade Show Management
- Ensure displayed product and location align with Palliser's merchandising strategy and present bestselling styles, trend product, and communicate the brand message.
- Support Product and Marketing Teams on where product should reside on the floor plan as it relates to price and style.
- Lead product communications during Sales/Management walkthroughs. Responsible for communicating the features and benefits of the new product.
- Support Sales team with product related inquiries.
- Perform market analysis through stakeholder feedback: understand consumer needs, price sensitivity, purchasing trends. Identify gaps in Palliser product line and put forth proposals to address those gaps.
- Partner with R&D leadership to understand new product value propositions and implement a value-added pricing strategy.
- Research and work closely with Sales Management to understand regional opportunities and differences as they relate to pricing and product offering.
- Manage the product life cycle for all styles in assigned product categories including introduction and retirement of those styles.
- Lead actions regarding product life cycle
**What Do You Bring?**
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in commerce, marketing, or economics preferred.
- A combination of education and related work experience will be considered.
- Previous product management or furniture sales/management experience is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Good logic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A passion to continuously improve and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people across departments.
