We are looking for a dynamic individual to support our Finance and Operations team. This will be a hands-on contributor participating in the daily functions of the department. Someone with a passion for excellence.
What you’ll do?
- Supervise the Finance department, setting goals and objectives for the teams and the organization, ensuring adequate systems, resources and training are provided.
- Coordinate activities within the Finance Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, payroll, special projects accounting, financial planning and reporting. Research any discrepancies for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. Ensuring that records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, established legal regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all month-end financial accounting duties and all resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Includes: recording all business transactions, processing accruals and adjustments, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly accounting statements.
- Prepare financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports as required by the Board, by shareholders, and by lenders.
- Oversee and prepare the annual budget and maintain the forecast for revised expectations throughout the fiscal year.
- Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and Nix’s long-term strategy on both a quarterly and annual basis.
- Head the year-end review and preparation of reviewed financial statements. As well as, managing and coordinating all governmental and customer audits.
- Supervise the Operations function, including inventory management, shipping and logistics, customer support, and office management.
- Regularly review programs and processes in place to ensure Operations are running at maximum efficiency.
- Experience with payment systems (PayPal, Stripe), Amazon, shipping programs (Shipstation, Sellbrite), and customer service programs (Zendesk, LiveChat, ChatBot, Dialpad).
What you’ll need?
- University Degree in Finance or Accounting, and possess a CPA designation or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in accounting required
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations.
- Knowledge of best practices in internal controls
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items.
- Knowledge of electronic data interchange (EDI) translation and transmission.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Superior organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
