Health and Safety Coordinator

A health and safety coordinator works with the top management team of an organization and is responsible for making sure that policies that protect the employer’s properties and keep employees safe are created or formulated.

Manage and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards in the facility and conduct audits to ensure provincial standards are met.

Ensure all staff are trained and aware of Health and Safety procedures, through annual training and weekly safety talks.

Participate in the establishment of existing / new processes, equipment, facility layouts by providing hazard assessments and acting upon safety hazard assessments

Providing safety and environmental deliverables for existing and new equipment; new and modified production processes; and providing support facility expansions

Support and implement actions to meet compliance to provincial environmental standards

Conduct and follow up on required safety audits both internally and externally.

Review and evaluate accidents and identify solutions to any potential negative trends.

Maintain all records and reporting for compliance with the provincial site for province Operating Approval.

Support Company management in setting HSE objectives

Manages and reviews work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts/conditions or unsafe behaviors, provides support, guidance, and recommendations for corrective action to management team.

Participate in all site safety committees and analyze all job hazard activities and ensure compliance to all safety guidelines and perform audit on all activities.

You are a hands-on type of person with excellent interpersonal skills and are people oriented to drill down on injury/spills root cause and preventive action plans

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSE within a manufacturing environment

Through knowledge of Health Safety and Environment requirements in local province

Capable of handling different files at the same time and prioritizing his or her work while summarizing issues and focusing on the tasks

Hands-on type of person with excellent interpersonal skills and are people oriented to drill down on injury/spills root cause and preventive action plans

Proficient in excel and word

Strong verbal and written communication in English and French (asset).

**Salary**: From $75,000.00 per year
