**Job Description**:
**POSITION PURPOSE**
Reporting to the Supervisor, Child Care Services, is responsible for providing customer service support to the general public and applicants requesting and receiving child care fee assistance; assisting with applicant eligibility and child placement; processing monthly accounts for child care fee assistance; preparing reports; updating the Ontario Child Care Management System (OCCMS) database; and providing general administrative support.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receives and processes telephone and walk-in inquiries and requests for child care fee assistance; enters referral information into the Ontario Child Care Management System (OCCMS) and processes wait list correspondence.
- Contacts wait listed applicants, provides them with wait list information, and explains and enforces wait list policies.
- Informs applicants of documents required to determine eligibility for child care fee assistance; responds to inquiries and updates wait list.
- Updates Children’s Services Representatives (CSR) on applicant/child case management and attendance issues and updates case notes on applicants/children.
- Maintains case files and processes required correspondence to applicants.
- Communicates with service operators regarding billing and attendance issues.
- Prepares OCCMS custom reports to determine required monthly customer service contacts, including annual personal reviews.
- Enters relevant applicant contact information into the OCCMS database.
- Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate, from the general public etc.
- Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.
- Provides backup coverage for CSR’s and Community Program Coordinators.
- Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successful completion of a post secondary certificate or diploma (1 year or more) in Business Administration or relevant field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a social service environment delivering services to clients, including general office duties or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of general office procedures including records management.
- Knowledge of local support agencies related to Child Care Services.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.
