Field Service Technician

The **Field Service Technician** is responsible for ensuring that Doverco continues to build its brand as a leading industrial distributor through installing, maintaining and repairing machinery in a timely manner. Work is done in our shop and at our customers’ sites across the province of Ontario, concentrated in the GTA. Are you a self-motivated, confident, and passionate Field Service Technician who understands and has experience with industrial automation as well as a passion for delivering solutions? **Field Service Technician** The Industrial instrument will be responsible to repair, maintain, calibrate, adjusting, and installing specialized packaging machinery, specialized security/printing equipment, and instrumentation. The chosen technician will be responsible to deliver service to industrial and other manufacturing companies, in all areas of food, pharmaceuticals and many other diverse industries. **Ideally, the chosen applicant has experience in any of the following fields**: - Industrial instrument mechanic - Instrument technician, industrial - Instrumentation technician, industrial - Process control equipment mechanic - Printers such as laser, continuous inkjet printers, and thermal transfer printers - The ideal applicant has experience with a wide range of packaging machinery and is accustomed to packaging equipment repairs and installations **Main duties include the following**: - Work in conjunction with machinery suppliers and manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams, and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring the flow, level, pressures, temperatures, and other variables in the manufacturing and processing - Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments - Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters, and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts - Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications - Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports - Install machinery to existing and new plant equipment and processes - Consult with and advise process operators. **Employment requirements** - Completion of Secondary studies is mandatory - Vocational education or completion of a college-level technical program is an asset - Completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial instrument repair is an asset - Instrumentation and control technician trade certification is an asset - Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) are a requirement - A valid international driver’s license is an asset - Good driving record - The ability to travel to the USA for training will be required in the future, as such, a valid passport is required - Experience, knowledge, or exposure to software systems or IT systems of complex machinery is an asset **Other information** - Red Seal education and training in the future would lead to a favorable path in the future - Progression to supervisory positions is possible with experience in the future Our** "E4 Excellence"** core values define who we are.
