You will be exposed to advanced nursing techniques and other specialty procedures not routinely performed in regular practice.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Under the supervision of the assigned surgeon, the duties and responsibilities of the Surgery Veterinary Technician includes
- patient care
- medical record entry (including flow sheets, daily soaps, pertinent laboratory data, prescriptions)
- history taking for appointments and discharging patients to the clients
- performing and submitting laboratory samples
- assisting the surgeon in advanced surgical procedures as necessary
- performing radiographs
- performing CT's
- bandage changes as necessary

**Skills and Effort Requirements**
- Ability to use independent judgement and initiative;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to participate as a team member.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians;
- A minimum of 1 year post graduation experience is desired
