**Surgery RVT**
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic RVT to join our Surgery Team at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in downtown Toronto. This is an opportunity for you to participate in the practice of state-of-the-art veterinary medicine while working with a committed group of RVT’s and board certified specialists in surgery and anesthesia. As a surgery team member, you will be involved in all aspects of patient care including pre and post-operative evaluation and nursing, pain management and the administration of anesthesia under the direction of our anesthesiologist. You will have the opportunity to utilize advanced skills in an environment that is committed to staff growth and advancement.
**Key Qualifications**
- Veterinary Technician Diploma and RVT’s status (or ability to obtain registration through the OAVT)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent record keeping and attention to detail
- Great math skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team based environment
- Ability to pro-actively manage multiple priorities
- Good anaesthesia and sedation skills
**In addition to our in-depth RVT training program, we will provide advanced training and support with the following**:
- Anesthesia, analgesia, comfortable with different drugs, ventilation
- Nerve blocks
- Bandages/splints and wound care
- CTs
- Sedation
- Radiographs
- Pain management
- Critical monitoring
