**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Activation Supervisor, the incumbent must assist with the planning and implementation of activities and special events for the residents during the summer.
**Main Duties**:
- Assist with planning the recreational, cultural and educational programs for our senior residents;
- Support the resident advocacy program by promoting the _Residents’ Bill of Rights_ in the aspect of raising awareness of senior abuse;
- Encourage residents’ participation by using humanizing elements (i.e. volunteers, pets, plants, décor, music, etc.) to develop integrated and active lifestyles;
- Support families and caregivers with their involvement in social and recreational activities.
**Qualifications**:
- Currently enrolled in a Social Services, Community Services, Activation, and/or Health Sciences program in a recognized University/College;
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team;
- Experience working with seniors an asset;
- Bilingual in English and Chinese required.
**Other Requirements**:
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- Was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
- Intends to return to school on a full-time basis for the upcoming academic year;
- Is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
- Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* _and;
- Is legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial / territorial legislations and regulations.
