Montréal, Canada Camp Weredale Full time

**Description**:
The camp is located on the shores of beautiful Lac de L'achigan in Saint-Hippolyte. We are an English summer camp that welcomes about 100 young people from 6 to 17 years old. The majority of our campers are followed in youth protection. Camp Weredale offers these young people a safe and beautiful environment in which they can be close to nature, create lifelong friendships and hopefully begin to heal.

**Responsible to**:
One of two Assistant Directors
- To participate in pre-camp training and orientation.
- To play an active role in promoting a positive and constructive camp environment.
- To be aware of all potential challenges and needs related to individual campers prior to the start of each camp session.
- To support staff in managing challenging individual and/or cabin dynamics and behaviour..
- To provide one on one support for campers who are presenting behavioural or emotional difficulties.
- To support and monitor the use of the lounge (quiet, safe space).
- To complete incident/accident forms as required.
- To offer conflict resolution support and act proactively around anti-bullying strategies.
- To act as a float when needed to provide relief or support within a cabin.
- To provide a strong presence and support during transition times (first day/last day, bedtime, quiet hour).
- To develop success plans for designated campers.
- To support the operation of the health center around set up, daily operation and emergency situations.
- To provide support for the staff when needed.
- To support, plan, implement and participate in evening programs and large scale event days
- To participate in hutline duty, waterfront tasks and night off replacement duties
- To attend all scheduled staff meetings and participate in formal and informal supervision.
- To respect all camp policies, procedures, guidelines and rules.
- To perform all other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- Must have completed Secondary 5 and preferably one year of college.
- Must have prior experience or study in a related field.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have the ability to relate to children
- Must be comfortable in, and respectful of, a group living environment.
- Must be punctual and capable of respecting a camp preset schedule.
- Must be capable of respecting confidentially regarding camper medical, behavioural issues and family history.

To be discussed based on experience

**Employment Status**:
Summer, full-time, day, evening, weekend. Transportation, lodging, and food are included at Camp Weredale during the stay.

**Duration of Employment**:
June 13, 2025, to August 14, 2025.
