**Level 1 (Child Development Assistant) or higher (ON-CALL position)**

**Shift between: 7:00am - 5:00pm**

Please note: There are no guaranteed hours and this position is to cover shifts when someone is ill or on vacation.

Richmond daycare is seeking an on-call Early Childhood Educator to join our team**. **We are a mixed-age group (19months - 6 years) Centre, located in the SW.

**Skills and qualifications you have**:

- Experience working with children aged 19 months - 6 years old.
- Enthusiastic, engaging and a passion for working with children.
- A flexible and positive attitude that is adaptable to change, stress, and daily challenges
- Ability to take the initiative and get things completed in a timely manner
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Knowledgeable with Early Learning and Child Care Regulation and Act
- Early Childhood Educator Certificate (minimum Level 1 or willing to obtain within 6 months).
- Current First Aid Certificate - Level C (preferred)
- Calgary Police background check with vulnerable sector search completed within the last 6 months (Preferred - willing to obtain)

**Job description**
- Providing support for the Lead childcare educator
- Setting up classroom activities and materials, based on planning and observations
- Work cooperatively as a member of the childcare team, facilitating a team environment through personal behaviour, work contributions, and the sharing of expertise and knowledge
- Provide effective supervision, support classroom routines, and maintain behavioural expectations with children
- Assist children with self-help skills, including feeding, toileting, and diapering.
- Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks.
- Ensure classroom or play environment is kept sanitary and implement a cleaning schedule

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Early childhood education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Early Childhood Certificate or Diploma (Level 1 - 3) (required)
- First Aid Certification - Level B (preferred)
