**Community Support Worker**
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for providing personal assistance/support to a young man with developmental disabilities. He has a passion for video games and spending time outdoors. He requires the support of someone mature, engaging and who will be committed to his inclusion in all areas of his life. As his support person, your responsibilities would include facilitating inclusion within the community and seeking opportunities for him to connect with other young people with similar interests.
Successful applicant will possess:
- a steadfast belief and commitment to inclusion,
- an ability to work independently to carry out goals set out by the young man and his family,
- a willingness to learn and a strong ability to take initiative,
- a good knowledge of community resources available,
- excellent facilitation and coaching skills in the development of the young man’s skills in various settings,
- good judgment and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Post-secondary education is beneficial, and previous experience working with persons with disabilities is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided. A current clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required. A valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and applicable insurance is required.
Please note you would be employed directly by the family, NOT through Inclusion Alberta.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week
**Salary**: $20.24 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
