We are looking for a motivated, responsible person who has a strong commitment to working with children with disabilities. As a **Community Support Worker (CSW)**, you will support families in need of home respite care by helping children and youth to participate in a range of social, recreational, and educational activities to improve their abilities, independence, and inclusion within the community. Someone who is imaginative, flexible to changing requirements, and engaged with children is needed for the position.

We are seeking to employ community support workers who have a dependable vehicle and can transport clients to school or participate in community inclusion.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:(but not limited to)
- Proactively promotes and fosters relationships with young people (and their families) through interactive play, activities, and one-on-one encounters.
- Intervenes with young people in crisis circumstances, using nonviolent restraint techniques when appropriate.
- Teaches and aids young people in acquiring appropriate skill relating to daily chores, routines, and personal hygiene habits.
- Compliance with the relevant policies and procedures of recreational respite.
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children with disabilities
- A diploma or certificate in the field of disabilities
- Certification in Standard First Aid/CPR
- Valid Class 5 License
- A reliable vehicle with license, registration and $2M liability
- All Hope 4 Life employees must provide a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check

**These are causal part time positions, and the hours are based on the families needs. The shifts will be after school hours and on weekends.**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $15.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evenings
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
