**Neil Squire Society** is a Canadian national not-for-profit organization that empowers Canadians with disabilities through the use of computer-based assistive technologies, research and development, and various employment programs. Headquartered in Burnaby, BC, Neil Squire is presently hiring for their employment program and seeking an **Accounting Assistant**.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Assistant is to assist in day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, monthly journal entries and various reconciliations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assist in full-cycle accounting and reporting
- Assist in month-end and year-end cut-off procedures
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for the general ledger and sub-ledger
- Accounts receivable:
- Prepare and process invoices and client statements
- Perform reconciliations and collect outstanding receivables
- Reconcile and resolve billings issues with clients
- Accounts payable:
- Process accounts payable
- Review payment documentation for accuracy and correctness for reimbursements
- Assist in reconciling vendor statements
- Liaise with internal departments and regions
- Perform filing and other general administrative tasks
- Assist and review the accounting procedures manual and update if needed
- Provide recommendations on streamlining accounting procedures
- Assist in ad-hoc tasks when assigned
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure confidentiality of company and clients’ information
**Qualifications**:
- Enrolled in or recently completed a University Degree in Accounting or Commerce or Business Administration or related;
- Exceptional communication, planning and organizational skills;
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience would be an asset;
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and MS Office; and,
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
**Additional Information**:
- Work Schedule - Typically Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Based out of the Burnaby head office
- Salary range: $45,000 to $55,000 per year
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
