Calgary, Canada Blue-Con Excavating Ltd Full time

Here we grow again Blue-Con Excavating is seeking an experienced deep utility foreman to join our team as we grow our operations this summer season. The foreman will lead and orchestrate an underground crew to create a positive and safe working environment while maximizing the crew's productivity. Qualifications: - Must be a leader, team player, and inspire action from the crew - Clear and effective verbal and written communication - Reliable and dependable - Knowledge of heavy equipment, and how to optimize equipment performance - Extensive knowledge of the installation procedures for sewer and water utilities - A minimum of 5 years' experience as a foreman in sewer and water or a minimum 10 years' experience working in the sewer and water industry and looking to advance (providing you have the required pre-qualifications for advancement) - Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and documents **Responsibilities**: - Coordinate crew tasks and methods, and ensure all work is executed as per the design specifications - Ensure all work meets company's high standard of quality - Teach and enforce proper work procedures, and be willing to listen to the crews' ideas for improving existing procedures - Plan ahead to ensure material is on-site before it is required for installation - Coordinate with other trades on-site to reduce delay caused by conflicting schedules and activities - Report to and inform the superintendent of activities, employee issues, challenges, and issues that are foreseen to arise - Collect and submit daily time sheets - Keep an organized filing system of all construction documents - Maintain site and job-trailer organization to promote a "lean" work environment that fosters attention to detail and continuous improvement - Complete and communicate tool box meetings, job hazard assessments, and safety procedures - Ensure the entire crew working in accordance with OH&S regulations and Blue-Con's company safety policies Why Blue-Con?
