We offer a broad range of products servicing business in one of our core segments: Hospitality, Recreation & Resorts, Construction (COC), Contractors, Professional Insurance, Real Estate, Transportation and more. Our underwriting expertise and facilities let us write even the toughest risks or solve that small wrinkle in what might otherwise be a standard risk.

We are seeking a Manufacturing & Wholesale Underwriting Manager to join our team.

**Job Overview**

As a Manager leading the Manufacturing and Wholesale team, you are responsible for directing all activities within your segment, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity, growth, and profitability. You will leverage existing broker relationships, technical expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit to build your segment. Surrounded by a team of experienced underwriters, practice leaders, managers, and executives, we provide an extensive array of products, ample capacity, and empowerment to enable your success. You will work collaboratively with the colleagues and management to provide value added expertise and exceptional service to our broker partners. This is a hybrid position with up to 3 days per week in Vancouver or Toronto office.

**Responsibilities**
- Developing and executing a business plan for the success of your segment, including using internal and external data sources;
- Partnering with leaders to analyze management reports, identify emerging trends and opportunities, and pricing and underwriting strategies;
- Serving as a point of contact for brokers and internal colleagues;
- Attracting and retaining talented underwriters and underwriting assistants;
- Leading, training, coaching and mentoring a team of commercial underwriters toward continuous improvement and goal achievement;
- Managing and establishing underwriting standards, best practices, and audits within your segment;
- Maintaining a compliance culture with underwriters, ensuring work is completed in accordance with established corporate guidelines and delegated authority parameters;
- Developing strategic plans with key brokers and business partners;
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including attending industry related seminars and networking events as necessary;

**Qualifications and Characteristics**

You’re a good fit if you have:

- A minimum of 6 years of insurance experience;
- A minimum of 4 years of Wholesale and Manufacturing experience;
- A minimum of 1 year in a leadership role;
- An entrepreneurial spirit with strong selling and negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to generate revenue growth;
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and value in every interaction;
- Insurance designation preferred;
- A Level 2 broker license or the ability to obtain this license within 90 days of hire.

**Salary Range**

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
