Job Summary:
As an Irrigation Service Technician, you’ll be the backbone of our irrigation maintenance and repair services. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and maintain irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties, ensuring optimal performance and water conservation. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll work independently and with our team, tackling everything from routine maintenance to complex system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

- System Installation & Setup: Install new irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, sprinklers, and drip lines, following blueprints and specifications.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and repair irrigation systems, including leaks, broken components, and electrical faults.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system inefficiencies, such as coverage issues or water pressure problems, to maximize performance and water conservation.
- Programming & Upgrades: Program and adjust irrigation controllers for optimal scheduling; recommend and implement system upgrades for smart, water-saving technologies.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to explain issues, propose solutions, and provide maintenance tips, ensuring a positive experience.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and parts used; provide detailed reports for clients and internal records.
- Seasonal Services: Perform Spring startups to ensure systems are ready for the season. Winterize systems to prevent freeze damage
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and local regulations, ensuring all work meets industry standards and environmental guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Technical Expertise: 2+ years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or repair; familiarity with brands like Rain Bird, Hunter, or Toro is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues in irrigation systems.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks like digging or kneeling.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients professionally and build trust.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in system setup, repairs, and documentation to ensure high-quality work.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
- Certifications (preferred): Certified Irrigation Technician certification, Backflow Prevention certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfort with programming smart controllers and using basic mobile apps for scheduling and reporting.
