Job description

The Production Planning/Scheduling Administrator is responsible for scheduling the production of corrugated plastic sheet extrusion and other production processes, according to customer (internal/external) requirements, while maintaining the Company’s machine utilization and on-time delivery standards.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Prepare production schedules for corrugated plastic sheet extrusion and slitting processes according to customer (internal/external) requirements and equipment capacity.
- Issue all work orders per production schedule.
- Estimate materials and labour required for production.
- Co-ordinate related production and traffic flow activities with the production supervisor
- Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies
- Monitor production progress
- Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
- Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action.
- Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
- Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.
- Manage cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
- Formulate a forward plan of requirements based on historical information and future customer forecasts
- plan production start dates, run dates and completion dates to ensure on-time delivery of product to customers.
- monitor production schedules and make changes, as necessary, in situation where resources/raw materials do not arrive as planned or when equipment fails.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure efficient and timely use of raw materials or extruded products already in stock.
- Determining the status of assigned projects, expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions, as required.
- Prepare purchase orders to obtain raw materials, as required.
- Resolve problems utilizing acquired knowledge & analytical abilities.
- Maintain 100% on time delivery
- Monitor monthly financial/job costing and help initiate cost improvements, where possible.
- Work with Production Supervisor to create a schedule which results in efficient machine utilization in concert with production run schedule
- Plan and formulate production schedules to support customer releases including order changes, work in process requirements and preventative maintenance.
- Determine manufacturing parameters to best utilize inventory, staffing, equipment and shipping schedules.
- Maintain check on material inventories, production progress and other factors affecting schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Education**:

- Post Secondary Education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience in a related role).

**Experience**:

- Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in production control, planning, inventory control and/or materials management

**Licenses/Certificates**:

- CAPIC/ APICS certification preferred

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Kanban, and Supply Chain design.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control practices
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing third-party service providers
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective deadline management and project management skills
- Able to identify, select, and coordinate vendors/suppliers
- Proficient at job costing and budgeting
- Able to explain ideas to people with varying levels of technical knowledge
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills (Bilingual; English/French preferred)
- Exceptionally analytical and detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize
- Able to maintain a high standard of professionalism

**Hours of Work**:

- Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 5:00 pm)
- 1 hour lunch (unpaid)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
