Come and be a part of this success- ** About Potash**- The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. ** Work Location**- Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

** Purpose**- This role supports the early-stage setup of data requirements across multiple teams and systems. The focus is on organizing and preparing data inputs from various sources and to translate operational metrics into data requirements to enable accurate and efficient decision-making.
The specialist will work closely with stakeholders in Integrated Operations, Operations, IT and other support teams to define what data is needed and how it should be structured. This is a foundational role focused on enabling future data quality and integration, which will transition into supporting more complex problem solving and system maintenance in the future.
** About the Role**- To be successful in this role, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define initial data requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure alignment across teams.
- Document data requirements and support knowledge sharing across the project team.
- Participate in discussions with technical teams to explore data handling options.
- Help assess and manage data quality issues during the setup phase.
- Convert data requirements into effective reporting to drive performance management and improvements.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving related to data inconsistencies.
- Support the transition from setup to ongoing data governance and continuous improvement.-
- **About You**- To be considered, you will need:
- A diploma or degree in data management, business analytics, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge through practical experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across teams to define data requirements and troubleshoot inconsistencies.
- Proficient with data tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Python or similar) to support data cleansing, formatting, validation, and reporting.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to define and align on data requirements in an environment where data governance or accuracy is critical to decision making.
- Exposure to data quality assessment and cleansing in a business or technical environment.
- Hands-on involvement in setting up or supporting data integration between systems (e.g., SAP, Snowflake, Excel).
- Experience with software such as SAP and AVEVA PI for reporting and analysis.-
