**About Potash**

BHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.

**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Lead Data Analysis, the Specialist Data Analysis contributes to identifying improvement insights in assets through data tools & techniques and analysis. They translate strategy into operational plans for the department.

**About the Role**:
In this role, you will:

- Evaluate and influence new ways to operate to target business objectives while balancing all constraints
- Quantitatively describe and contextualize the features of a collection of information
- Develop and communicate insights that guide data driven action and decision making
- Wrangle, cleanse and manages data/metadata to maintain the quality and integrity of BHP data and ensure compliance with data security, privacy and legal requirements
- Make evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives
- Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
- Define and structure business problems to understand what can be addressed using analytics, designs analytics solutions and accesses and cleans data to prepare it for the analysis process
- Build, validate and optimize prescriptive models to provide value adding recommendations and support data driven decision making on the best course of action
- Develop and communicate insights that guide data driven action and decision making
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
- Use, store, classify, assess and process data/metadata in alignment with BHPs standards and requirements for data quality management, integrity and governance
- Analyze and models data to draw out insights and solutions that address hypotheses and business challenges
- Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste

**Work Location**:
Downtown, Saskatoon; 40 hours per week, parking is provided on-site.

**About You**:

- Post secondary accreditation in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or other applicable discipline
- Proficient in using & building data analysis models
- Skilled in data governance storage and management
- High attention to detail, motivation, and commitment to learning
- Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
