**About the Role**
Haliscape Construction is expanding our residential construction and landscaping team and is currently hiring an experienced **Equipment Operator**. In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll be responsible for safely operating excavators, loaders, and other machinery to support residential projects across HRM.

This is a year-round opportunity with steady hours, competitive pay, and a chance to contribute to well-crafted landscape and site work in one of Halifax’s fastest-growing areas.

**What You’ll Do**
- Operate excavators, loaders, and skid steers to complete tasks such as digging, grading, trenching, and moving materials
- Interpret basic site drawings and grade plans to ensure accuracy and precision
- Perform regular equipment checks
- Collaborate with your crew and site leads to maintain a smooth workflow and meet daily project targets

**What We’re Looking For**
- **Minimum 2 years’ experience** operating excavators or loaders in a construction or landscaping setting
- Ability to read grade sheets or follow layout plans confidently
- Strong situational awareness and mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- **Valid Class 5 driver’s license** and **reliable transportation** — job sites are not on public transit routes
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying conditions
- A team-focused attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to working safely

**Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Nice to Have)**
- Experience with **skid steers** (especially foot controls)
- **First Aid certification** or other safety training
- Background in **hardscaping**, grading prep, or other residential landscape work

**Job Details**
- **Job Type**: Full-time, permanent
- **Schedule**: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work as required
- **Hours**: 35-45 hours per week
- **Work Location**: Multiple job sites across HRM - primarily in the **West Bedford** area
- **Start Date**: As soon as possible
