We are currently seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our global financial reporting group. This position will be based out of our Waterloo, Canada office, with the potential to work remotely. This is an excellent opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. The global financial reporting group is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting with respect to the global operations of the company, including preparing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management discussion and analysis, coordination of the quarterly reviews and annual audit, analysis of monthly financial results and internal metrics, calculation and analysis of complex transactions, and statutory and other compliance reporting. The primary focus of the financial reporting group is to provide accurate and meaningful financial analysis to assist the organization in making key decisions.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements and other annual and quarterly financial reporting documents
- Support the financial reporting group with preparation of audit working papers and supporting documentation
- Research, document and record US to local GAAP differences in the statutory accounts
- Compile data to respond to government statistical surveys and other requests
- Assist with the calculation of sales commissions
- Review CRM sales data and work with sales operations team to ensure timely entry of data
- Respond to commission related inquiries from the sales team
- Respond to internal ad-hoc /service requests in a comprehensive, professional and timely manner
- Support the corporate finance group in other initiatives as required
**Qualifications**
- An accounting or business degree or diploma is required. Progress toward a professional accounting designation would be an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment
- High degree of autonomy but a team player with a positive attitude that will work as part of a team to deliver quality results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional experience in financial reporting and analysis would be an asset.
- Previous relevant experience with employee and director variable compensation would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Xactly software would be an asset.
- Previous experience within a public company and US GAAP knowledge would be an asset.
